  1. I love Bee Mine! Enter me please :) I started my hair christmas 2009 becasue my hair was paper thin, i started watching YT videos and ran across Sunshyne/Hairlista site and found a welp of information everything i needed to start my hair journey. And i've been in love with taking proper care of my hair ever since.

  2. I started my hair journey September 2010 because I was fed up with having dry, dull, brittle, breaking hair. I use to get so many compliments on my hair but then life took over (marriage, motherhood, etc) and I put myself on the back burner. I decided to reclaim myself and spend more time taking care of my hair and getting into an overall beauty routine. I started at EL in the back and NL on the sides. I'm now NL in the back and SL on the sides. My short term goal is full SL all around (trimming the sides to match the back) and my ultimate goal is WL. My hair inspiration is Nunaavane on YT because we both have fine, relaxed hair.

  3. I officially started my hair journey a couple months a go after I had my hair in braids. I went to the salon to get a touch up and like dozens of other times, the stylist cut off all my new length. I'd finally had enough and decided it was time for me to learn how to take care of my hair the right way. I've already noticed a change for the better in the health of my hair and i hope to be at least APL by the end of the year, with the help of bee mine.

  5. My hair journey... well, I have really sensitive hair. It's thin and thinning, and I don't really dare to straighten or curl it myself, because it would cause even more damage it it. I've never dyed it, either. My aim is just to make it have a little more volume, and it looks like I'm on my way, with a special shampoo for thinning hair. Also, I've strted wearing my hair down more, or when I have an updo, it's a looser type, because wearing my hair in tight ponytails and braids damaged my hair, too. And I'm working on growing it, too, because about 3 years ago, my life was utterly stressful, and my hair was thinning so badly I had to cut it really short, and I HATED it. I feel as if my face is not feminine enough, and the short hair didn't help it. Oh, and of course, my life isn't that stressful and I eat and live more healthily (drink a lot of water etc.).

  7. Hello,
I started my hair journey in Dec 2009. I happened to find videos of black women taking care of their hair,I was amazed. Then I found hairlista through Nina Pruitt's channel. My goal was to grow long healthy thick hair, my hair had never been passed APL because I would let anyone do my hair. I had a setback from a stylist, she would always cut and on top of that she overprocessed it. I was fed up ,that's when I decided to take that hair journey seriously. I am so blessed to find those online hair communities. I am so happy now I am almost MBL and transitioning to natural. Now my goal is to maintain the health and length through my transition and my long term goal is to have all natural hair 3 years from now.
Inspirations: ladies from kiss and hairlista and ladies on youtube(so many of them couldn't list all the names, but you know what I mean)

  8. My hair journey. Well I've been natural for about 10 months now. My goal is to get my transitioned hair in a healthy state and to grow it out. My inspirations are other natural hair women that have been on this journey longer than me. One for ex. The MopTop Maven. Oh, & KimmyTube.

i have thin and wavy hair and was not much into taking care of it until five years ago when I met this old lady who was a very good hairstylist, Mommy Rose. I had a regular trim and she kept my hair low maintenance like I could just finger-comb it and I'm ready to go. I kept that same long flirty curls for five years. Unfortunately, Mommy Rose's salon closed shop and I couldn't let any other person touched my hair. I recently had a haircut and this new hairstyle is short and still low maintenance. I use VMV Hypoallergenics milk shampoo for my hair. It gives my hair a light and bouncy finish without sabotaging my skin. =)

  16. Hi,

    (cool idea, by the way)

I used to put a children's relaxer in my hair once every 3 months or so before my hairdresser finally suggested I just stop altogether and let him press it. So for the last 10 months, he's trimmed my ends bit by bit and pressed the "growth." Now, my hair is completely relaxer-free and past my shoulders (pretty much the same length as when I started, but fuller, healthier, and completely natural). I'm loving the freedom I have now to wear the "curly" look and show off my 1/4 Filipina roots;) LOL.

  22. My recent hair journey involves having to take some oral chemotherapy for a lung disease I have. I used to have pretty thick hair, though greying. It got really thin after taking the medicine, I am hopefully weaning off the medicine in the next few month, so I hope it returns to the way it was, or maybe curly (it is straight now).

  23. I initially started my hair journey in December of 2009. I've always had a good length but my hair wasn't healthy. I went on a journey to gain length, health, and thickness and I got all three. So now I'm on a new journey which involves transitioning long term.

  25. My hair journey started in 2009 at neck length by the end of that year I was full shoulder length. In 2010 I suffered set back after set back due to a failed texlaxing attempt, I was discouraged but didnt give up on my journey. Today, 5-4-11, I am finally APL and honey I am so proud of ME! My ultimate goal is BSL and I'm inspired by all the everyday women that share this hair journey walk with me.

  32. My hair journey has had its ups and downs (including a setback from a new moisturizer) but I am LOVING every minute of it! I am currently MBL and my hair is the longest and healthiest it has ever been. My goal is to be grazing WL by the end of this year and I am greatly inspired by sisters with relaxed/texlaxed hair who are able to grow it long and healthy. Sometimes relaxed hair can look really bad after about BSL, (due to thinning) but I love to see full, thick hair with great ends past MBL and beyond. That inspires me that relaxed hair can be long, thick AND healthy even at WL. The key to my growth has been keeping my scalp clean and the key to my retention has been DCing and Moisturizing and Sealing.

  33. I started my hair journey in July 2009 I'd say for the most part it has been successful. Lately, my biggest setback was transitioning from relaxed straight to texlaxed. I have a major breakage patch. I almost am discouraged. I'm currently APL, about 1 inch from BSL. My biggest inspirations in hair is Aaliyah & Amerie. My goal is to be full, thick, no breakage BSL.

    ReplyDelete
  34. My journey started because I was tired of the constant breakage and thinning of my hair. One day my hair would be doing great then it would revert. It would was a recurring pattern with my hair. I finally decided to do sew-ins for a year and get my hair together. So far so good. I've gained some decent length after 9 months. I'm well on my way to my goal of APL by the end of the year. I can't wait. My inspiration are the ladies of KISS. Seeing the progress they have made are making gives me great motivation for my own hair journey.

Also , ihave not been using heat AT ALL so far and at first ithougjt ivouldnt live without heat but , ihave cone to find that it is really easy & that ican air dry without frizz cery easily. There have been sooo many women on youtube that inspired me that icant even name them i wash just soo desperate to have healthy relaxed hair that iwent to every video about hair care. One of the first people to really and truly inspire me was macherie amour. That was what
really made me say that this is it to breakage & not
retaininq lenqth. Ineed to qet my hair back on
track. Mt hair regimen is moisturize and seal twice daily, deep condition every week alternatinq between protein and moisturizinq conditioners, co wash twice a week and clarify once a month and pre pooinq before i clarify. My ultimate goal is to just have thick healthy hair with alot of body .

  47. My hair used to always be shoulder length and I always wondered why my hair never grew any longer. I experienced a major setback in September of 2007. I started a new school and all of the stress caused major breakage in my hair. In October of 2007 I had to cut my hair until it was about ear length. I still did not know much about hair so it still did not grow much. I officially started my hair journey in december of 2009. I was inspired by hair websites like kiss and from watching YouTube videos. My short term goal is full sl and my long term goal is bsl. I am now grazing sl so I think I really am accomplishing something.

  49. I started my hair journey in 2009 after getting a hair cut about two years earlier that caused my hair to constantly break off. In 09 my hair was looking healthy but then the new stylist i had due to the fact that i was in university was scissor happy and after i told her to not cut my hair, she said to me, your hair is gonna break off, determined to prove her wrong i did some research and found hairlista and now i am at APL after starting at NL ... i feel so accomplished, working on BSL

  50. I have been on my hair journey for 2 months now and it has changed the way that I take care of my hair. Its a good thing that I always had some what of long hair. I no long perm the ends of my hair. I have seen softer new grow since starting and turned in to a product junkie. When I started my hair was a little pass SL now im creepn up on APL but i think that Im going to have to cut a lot off from perming my ends for so long but I believe will make my goal length of BSL by the Jan 2012
