2 Year Hair Journey-Full APL

Hey Beauties. So this marks my 2 year hair journey so far, I can say that i am somewhat pleased. I didnt hit my goal of being BSL =( Im still full armpit length. But it has deff thicker and more fuller than my last relaxer. But overall, for the 2 years i am happy to have my hair healthy then damage. Healthy hair grows-Damage hair breaks. I hope to reach BSL by June of 2011. I HOPE or imma be really pissed off! SERIOUSLY LOL.

Also i am changing something major up too...I will be changing my protective styles. I will limit how much i wear my halfwigs. I have notice its stressing my hair that was left out on the top and has broken off a bit. So i will be doing flexis, curlformers, caruso, buns, and maybe drawstrings. Roller sets...hmmm...if i have that much time lol. But yes i am leaving the weave alone...or should i say i will try hard...its so easy lol. But i dont even know how it is to wear my own hair, i really havent in the pass two years...this will deff be a change for me.

I will be posting more pics and also a 2 year hair journey video asap...i will try my best today, but i have so much to do, cookings, xmas eve is tomorrow, i still have to help my husband put up toys for our babies, we are having family come over tomorrow to celebrate then xmas is Sat...so busy-busy-busy!!!! While i was out i had to go to Sallys to pick me up some shampoo and conditioner. Ill be doing my relaxer tomorrow, so ill post pictures up asap. Anywhoo...i decided to try the one 'n only Argan Oil shampoo and conditioner, since im in love with the oil, i really wanted to try their line. This line has no sulfates, phosphates, and its paraben free. Sallys are offering a great buy, now the shampoo and conditioner runs about 10 bucks each. But for the month of December when you buy either the argan oil curling iron, flat iron or blow dryer, you will get the argan oil trio set FREE, that includes the shampoo-conditioner-restorative mask. I ended up getting the curling iron (its infused with argan oil...nice), $33 bucks and got the trio free, if i would have got just the trio, i would have spent 30 bucks just on that alone. So as you can see i got a great deal....i love anything thats free =) I will do an update on these products and the curling iron as well.

Revlon Cotton Candy

Cotton Candy anyone??? Yummy right? Lol. No Revlon isn't making cotton candy now lol, but its the name of their nail polish... this color is a pretty pale pink. It also reminds me of the new barbie trend pink. I like it, its cute but do you know what I love? This nail polish actually smells like cotton candy!!! Yum!!! Neutrogena: Acne Wash (Grapefruit)

Hey Beauties!

Are you looking for a great over the counter acne wash for your face with out breaking the bank? Well do i have a great product that i recommend....Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash in pink grapefruit. This product smells so good, it really wakes you up in the morning. Now i use mines 2xs a day, morning and nite follow by my moisturizer. I have been using this for about 3weeks now and i have notice a difference. My active acne are gone and all i have left are the blemishes (dark spots) which arent even bad like that, but im using Ambi for that right now and will be also picking up some lemons as well. Back to the acne wash...

This wash is great for sensitive skin ladies like myself...which cant handle a drop of Benzoyl Peroxide. So if you have sensitive skin, beware of using this on your face. However, Salicylic Acid is more gentle on your face and still helps treat your acne, but benzoyl peroxide gets deeper in the pores, but my face can not handle that. The Salicylic Acid has helped me alot though, and i love this product. Im half way through the bottle, use 2xs a day, started off with 1 pump each time now im using 2 pumps each time. This drys my face a little but not as bad as what Benzoyl Peroxide did...it was dry-cracked-burned, etc...=(

Hair Chat: Getting Ready For My Relaxer

Hey Beauties =) so today i washed my hair with my Aphogee Line, i love this line, and i have been using this for two years now. I always wash my hair like a week or so before my relaxer and when i do i use my Aphogee line (protein). Now since i am almost 17wks post, (when i will be relaxing on the 22nd), i have alot of new growth and its really hard to manage, so i have to blow dry my hair out that way when i do put in my relaxer its not going to be a mess. I had to detangle in sections, egh, it was alota work tonight i tell you....i couldn't go natural without doing the BC i tell you lol! Anyway, as you can tell by the pictures i have major shrinkage, MAJOR! I can not even run my fingers through my hair, nothing, not a comb, nada! lol. I cant wait to see where my length is at now...i wanted to be BSL, but i think i will be hitting that goal in March...so hopefully im touching BSL Dec 22 nd!!! Either way im happy, because honestly im way past what i thought my hair could grow, and right now my hair is healthier then it has ever been, and with healthy hair comes growth =) Oh yea in case you are wondering, yes i used a heat protectant in my hair when blowing it out, CHI.

Hair Chat: Relaxer

Hey Beauties... so, as you can tell by the topic this is about a relaxer. I can't do it, I can not go natural. I really dont have what it takes and honestly this is something I should have considered when I began my hair journey almost 2 years ago when my hair was NL. I should have did the BC! But since starting this journey my hair is healthy, thick and longer then what my intentions were. So me cutting off all my hard work and time....I can not and will not do it. I love the thought of being natural ... I remember my hair being so curly and beautiful ...but im thankful and happy for my hair now. Because I would have never knew I could be where I am now..thanks to KISS! So with that being said I will be relaxing on Dec 22nd and posting pics as well as a 2 year hair journey video on my youtube. This is something you don't want to miss... im super excited! You will be shock to see my before pics and what my first" goal" was.....im so pass that its crazy lol. :)

Apply Right

Hey Beauties..hope everyone is enjoying their wkend...holiday season which means crowded in the stores...i love it though, not the lines lol but just seeing everyone out with their loved ones enjoying the season. Thanksgiving is next wk, i know im so ready to eat, and boy can i eat lol... okay on to the subject...

Apply Right...Foundation

Prime:: Before you smooth on your foundation, prep your face with a primer, which will create a base for the makeup and help hold it in place all day. Look for a primer that's silicone based, which helps seals skin imperfections, creating a smoother surface. I use MAC prep and prime.

Brush up:: A foundation brush helps the product go on smoothly and covers imperfections without creating a cakey appearance. Using your fingers can cause skin irritations, because bacteria beneath your nails can be transferred to your face...breakouts. If you are using a cream or liquid foundation, choose a brush made from synthetic fiber such as nylon. For powder foundations and finishing powders, go for a natural goat-hair brush such as MAC 134.

Blend it:: Pour a quarter-size amount of foundation onto the back of your hand or into a small, clean bowl. Then dip the brush into the product, just enough to cover the bristles, you don't want to drown them-then smooth it onto your skin with even strokes. Begin with one side of your face underneath your jawline, and work your way up to your cheekbones. Then continue to just below your brows and across your forehead. Repeat to the other side. Blend-Blend-Blend! This is the key beauties. If you need more coverage, let the first layer dry then proceed to the next layer.

Hair Chat: Wanna go natural?

Hey Beauties! So im sitting here with my 11weeks post relaxer hair and just wondering how it would be to go natural...The last time i remember my hair being natural is when i was about 3 years old. All i have is a picture to remember it, lol, sorry its not on my pc, but i will try to scan it later or whatever. The texture was really pretty and curly. My mother has natural curly hair, but its a different texture, im mixed so my texture is really different from hers. If i could figure out how to detangle my hair better with the new growth, then i should be able to do it, of course without the big chop. I mean i wear halfwigs anyway 99% of the time, so that would help with transition. I just dont know about the detangle part, seriously. And once i get past 11 wks post like i am now, if i air dry without running a comb through it or pinning it up, my hair becomes a big poof of mess lol and i cant get my fingers through the new growth. But i would like to go natural and say buh bye relaxer. After all, i could still wear my hair straight at times thanks to the invention of a blow dryer and flat iron lol.

just maybe i will...i will see next month. Dec marks my 2year hair anniversary, instead of relaxing it maybe ill just blow it out really good and flat iron and move into the newyear with a new journey...NATURAL =)

Oily Skin: Women whose skin tends to get a little greasy should avoid oil-based foundations and stick to wet/dry mattifying powders that are on the thick side. These adhere to skin better than liquids, which can bond to oil and slide down your face...yuck lol.

Dry Skin: If your skin is parched, use an oil based liquid foundation with emollients such as glycerin, lanolin, or ceramides. These moisturizing ingredients will keep your skin looking soft and supple.

Combination Skin: Combination skin is tricky because your face is dry around the perimeter and oily in the T-zone. The trick: apply a moisturizing cream foundation along the outer part of your face, then blend it in toward your nose. Finish with a dusting of a translucent powder over your nose and forehead. It will set the cream and prevent it from migrating into any creases.

Normal Skin: If you want to cover blotchiness, use a cream foundation. (Laura Geller real deal foundation stick SPF) Otherwise, smooth on a tinted moisturizer, which will even out your tone and give you a natural look. Then use a dab of concealer to hide any minor discolorations.

GoodBye Past...Hello Future...

Hey Beauties =) so today is a random post. Its about saying goodbye to your past and enjoying your present and your future. I know many of us ladies tends to hold on to past issues, being situations you been through that you could never really let go. Or past friendships that didn't work out for whatever reason, or relationships, etc. Life tends to take you through a roller coaster, but how your life plays out is really how you let it. And with that, im talking about being saved by God. Once you are saved, you really do look at the world differently, you have a new set of eyes. You want to live your life right, by God, in EVERYTHING you do. So everything in your past that has hurt you, or just wasn't right, you have to let it go. Once you have let it go, you can enjoy your Blessings God has Provided you with. It feels good to be saved and renewed. I no longer want to live "my way" but i want to live Gods Way. Im not perfect, and im never trying to pretend i am, i don't have a perfect life, come on now we are all humans...humans are not perfect. But my life is so much better and peaceful now that i have completely started to live for God. I have seen the difference in my life, my marriage, my children, my friendships...etc. So im saying Good Bye to everything in my past, the past friendships that didnt workout, they know who they are, im sure they are reading this, may God Bless You. Good Bye to all my past pains, i forgive all who has hurt me, and may those forgive me for those who i have hurt along the way.
