Coconut Oil For Hair

Im new to Coconut Oil but O-M-G i LOOOVE IT, and its now in my staples for my regimen. I used it for an oil rinse, and the results were so amazing. It left my hair super soft and the shine was great! I did a YouTube video on this already in case you missed it. I have even started to seal my hair with this at night....i love the smell...

I have even started using it in my children's hair, both my son and daughter has natural soft curly hair and i find this helping with their curls. It brings their curls alive and gives them a very very nice shine. I found other products making their hair appear dull, so im happy to have found a natural oil to use. This oil is amazing! You must try it.

Recent research shows that coconut oil has the ability to penetrate the hair shaft and reduce protein loss as compared to other oils such as sunflower oils or mineral oils

Braid Out Pony Puff

Hey Beauties!

Do you hear the song playing?!?> Kelly Rowland "MOTIVATION" O--M--GEEE this is my song, damn she came cold didn't she...loving it!!!

Alright..to the blog post, so this was my hair style for yyesterday. The braid out Pony Puff...and i must say im loving how full my pony is looking. I really like this braid out puff...

The previous nite my hair was freshly co-washed, dried 99% (roots were a little damp). I did 3 braids on each side, put a soft pillow roller on the ends, tied with a scarf and went to bed...next morning, fluffed and put in a pony. I didn't wear it down because i didn't want my ends rubbing on my clothes.

Right now my hair is in a bun, its wash day, but today i have been really busy so ill be washing tomorrow most likely and doing a Caruso saran wrap (tutorial will be up on this)

Pony Love

Hey Beauties...

I have never been the type to wear pony tails because they tend to hurt me, no matter how loose. But today i wanted to actually see how my hair looked in a pony tail (length) and o-mm- to the G, I'm so amazed at how beautiful and long it looks. Looking at this picture, i don't believe this is "my hair"!! If i sound excited and proud, that's because i am!! I have worked my butt off these 2 years to get my hair to be strong and healthy, (which it has never been due to lack of knowledge) so I'm very thrilled!!! I just want to share my journey with others, because it is possible to have long-beautiful-HEALTHY HAIR for WOC!!!

HAHA-i think i might be rocking ponytails now lol =)

13 Week Comparison

Hey Beauties, so here is my 13 week comparison. I love my results. And i have to say I am really proud of myself so far on my hair journey. This is the longest and healthiest my hair has ever been. With sticking to a good regimen for my hair, and learning what to do and what not to do, has made a DRASTIC change in my hair.

I plan to relax my hair in 12 weeks, which brings me to the end of June. This time, i will be doing oil rinses and giving my new growth some TLC by keeping my new growth moisturize and sealed, just like my ends. My hair is getting longer which means more work for me. So its time for me to make some changes in my hair care routine, esp when that new growth is kicking in. My hair is thick,so i have to make sure i detangle the right way or i will get some knots =(

I made a mistake with this last relaxer by not detangleing it before doing my actual relaxer, which resulted in 4 knots in my hair =( which i had to basically rip out...egh...the thought..  =/  So i will makesure i detangle the "PROPER" way from now on...this was my first and my last time i get some freaking knots in my hair!!!

Im really hoping to hit BSL by June and MBL by Dec..this is going to be huge for me, because i have never been that length...but i beleive i could do it with the support of all my KISS SISTERS.. =)

I just received my order from Amazon of the Pure Coconut Oil, i cant wait to use this for my oil rinses...ill let you beauties know how that works out.

Talk To You Beauties Soon...Stay Blessed

XOXOXO

How I Self-RELAX part 1

Hey Beauties...Happy Thursday =)

This is how i self relax my own hair. This is just to give you an idea incase you are wondering how to self relax. Remember, what works for me might not work for you.

The relaxer i use and love, is Dark & Lovely, regular, with shea butter
First i section my hair into 4 parts, i then apply my proclaim oil (pic below) to my hair, a very little bit, making sure i get my ends to protect them. After i do this, i then put like a quater size amount of oil into the relaxer mix. This helps slow down the relaxing process...

Then i apply it to my new growth ONLY, with the relaxer brush (i kno this isnt the right name lol). I start at my crown since this is where my hair is more coarse at and is harder to get straight...i then move to the back, nape area, the the front of my hair, finally doing my edges LAST. I time myself and watch my hair from once the relaxer touches my hair to see how it is processing. I leave the relaxer in my hair anywhere from 15-20 mins. I move in a fast but i make sure to be careful not to overlap.

......

I then rinse out all of the relaxer really good, making sure not to leave any behind...Before i neutralize my hair i apply Aphogee 2 min (protein) this helps put some protein back into the hair making it strong from the relaxer...which takes out some protein.

I leave this on anywhere from 5-10 mins, then i rinse and neutralize my hair. I neutralize, rinse 3xs...on the last wash i leave in my hair for 5 mins..to make sure to stop the relaxing process.

Next i shampoo my hair with Aphogee Shampoo for damage hair. Rinse, then i deep condition my hair with one n' only argan oil mask.

Leave on for 10-15 mins..rinse, then final rinse with COLD water!

woooooh....that was a lot, lol, but thats what I do...I will let you beauties know what i do after this in part 2...what products and stuff like that =)

Quick Messy Bun

Hey Beauties so yesterday I did my wash with my argan line and did 6 braids. I wasn't planning to wear my hair down so after I did my braids I pinned them upwards. Put on my bonnet and went to sleep. This morning I brushed the edges and just put it up in a messy bun since I was staying in today. I made sure to tuck in my ends and used a few bobby pins. The results are in the pictures .... I will be doing a cowash either tomorrow or Tuesday ... maybe then ill do the double bantu knots???

2 Year Hair Anniversary Update

i put in a black rinse as well in my hair...needed a color change lol.

products i used on my hair---the argan oil has made my hair soooo shiny...loves it!

(Click the Pic for Larger View)

Hey Beauties. So this marks my 2 year hair journey so far, I can say that i am somewhat pleased. I didnt hit my goal of being BSL =( Im still full armpit length. But it has deff thicker and more fuller than my last relaxer. But overall, for the 2 years i am happy to have my hair healthy then damage. Healthy hair grows-Damage hair breaks. I hope to reach BSL by June of 2011. I HOPE or imma be really pissed off! SERIOUSLY LOL.

Also i am changing something major up too...I will be changing my protective styles. I will limit how much i wear my halfwigs. I have notice its stressing my hair that was left out on the top and has broken off a bit. So i will be doing flexis, curlformers, caruso, buns, and maybe drawstrings. Roller sets...hmmm...if i have that much time lol. But yes i am leaving the weave alone...or should i say i will try hard...its so easy lol. But i dont even know how it is to wear my own hair, i really havent in the pass two years...this will deff be a change for me.

I will be posting more pics and also a 2 year hair journey video asap...i will try my best today, but i have so much to do, cookings, xmas eve is tomorrow, i still have to help my husband put up toys for our babies, we are having family come over tomorrow to celebrate then xmas is Sat...so busy-busy-busy!!!! I pray everyone has a great Holiday and stay blessed, i love you all who supports me on my blog/youtube/kiss =)

HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND STAY BLESSED

Argan Oil

Hey Beauties! Are you done doing X-Mas shopping? I am...finished today. Thank God.
(Click the pics for a larger view)
While i was out i had to go to Sallys to pick me up some shampoo and conditioner. Ill be doing my relaxer tomorrow, so ill post pictures up asap. Anywhoo...i decided to try the one 'n only Argan Oil shampoo and conditioner, since im in love with the oil, i really wanted to try their line. This line has no sulfates, phosphates, and its paraben free. Sallys are offering a great buy, now the shampoo and conditioner runs about 10 bucks each. But for the month of December when you buy either the argan oil curling iron, flat iron or blow dryer, you will get the argan oil trio set FREE, that includes the shampoo-conditioner-restorative mask. I ended up getting the curling iron (its infused with argan oil...nice), $33 bucks and got the trio free, if i would have got just the trio, i would have spent 30 bucks just on that alone. So as you can see i got a great deal....i love anything thats free =) I will do an update on these products and the curling iron as well.

*Happy Holidays*

Hair Talk:: Waiting for a Relaxer

Hey Beauties... so its late, im sitting here thinking about my hair and how i have came such a long way from being dry and damaged to healthy and strong...locks of course lol. But i really have. So im not going to go into the history lol because then this will be a really long post...and im kinda sleepy right now. But anyhow, my last relaxer was in June and my next one is "due" in Sept...thats right around the corner..But im really thinking of skipping this relaxer and just doing it on my 2year hair anniversary in Dec of this year...hmmm...im thinking hard on this one...i dont want to see my results till then lol, its like saving a gift till its the right moment to open it but i know im going to get tempted. Im going to try...i think...i want to be BSL in dec...this will be the longest my hair has ever been...it use to be apl when i was little, grade school, early years. Im so happy to have the knowledge on how to care for my hair because now me having a daughter, i can care for her hair the right way, i know what products to use and not use, what oils and conditioners to use and of course heat free styles, i dont even think i will ever put a relaxer in her hair either, she will be natural, i will just have to learn how to style natural hair. I kinda wish i would have went natural when i started my hair journey back in dec 2008, because at least then i wouldn't have been losing any hair really lol, i started at neck length now im apl...touching bsl...so to cut off all this...*sighs* i dont think i can..

so...half wigs of course i will be doing..just got 2 brand new ones today in the mail, this will last me for like 2 months if that..i go thru these babies fast lol. =-)
UPDATE:: so the black tea rinse really does help, my hair feels so much stronger and i did my 2nd rinse yesterday, the shedding has decreased alot, i say by 97%. i love it..so i will be doing this like 1x a week until the shedding is 100% gone then ill do it 2xs a month. Also as you may know from previous post, im not taking Biotin no more because of the breakouts, so now im taking a children's complete vitamin and a vitamin c vitamin. In a few months i will be trying the fish oil vitamin and may start back up on Biotin but at a very very very low dosage (was taking 2500 mcgs, then 3000 mcgs when i switched brands =-/)

well beauties...im turning in, thanks for reading my blog as always and stay blessed=-)

CurlFormers & New Color

Hey Beauties!!!

So I just recently brought some curlformers from sallys after seeing so many reviews, good reviews on it.... I had to try them for myself ESP bc I love curly styles! Now the starter pack comes with 46 rollers I beleive, I would Suggest you get this over the single packs. Starter kits cost $60 and the single packs are $12. Now don't be silly like me lol, I thought I could get away with 3 single packs... Um no! Lol had to go get 2 more lol so I would have been better off getting the kit!

Note; small sections, if you do it too big, your hair will get caught and it will not go thru the roller.

Check out the pics, after the rollers are out::

Look at all that new growth! Yay lol

Afterwards::

Overall:: I LOVE my results and the product is high in price but it really pays for itself. 5 stars!

I love how fast it dries due to the material. It takes some getting use to learning how to use this but it gets easier after practice.

I Applied the rollers after I washed my hair, while wet, applied my garnier leave in and my argan oil and some keraCare foam lotion. And airdried over night. No Heat= Healthy Hair! Results:: soft shiny curls full of body.

Also I applied a rinse, Champ Brown, I wanted a darker brown, my natural color is a med brown.

Can't wait for my relaxer next month!

One more thing, this product works great even if you have alot of new growth!

Goody Goods :-)

Hey Beauties!!

So I went to walmart today and I picked up a few things from the Goody line, I got the new Goody Spin Pin, I'm really excited to try these out. You get to pins in the pack and they cost about 6 bucks. On the box they give you three different styles you could do. I want to do a messy bun with these pins:-)

Then I got the Goody Pony Pouf and with this they give you two styles on the box you could do. You gather your hair at the base of your head and clip your hair in the pony pouf clip, once for thick hair and twice for fine hair then pull small portions of your hair through the pony pouf clip notches. This is great for those cute ponies with out breaking your hair with those crappy rubber bands!

Then I saw these cute little Goody Girls ponytailers chouchoux fleuris.. Cute little flower designs, pink- blue-white. 16 in a pack and range around 4bucks.. Can't wait to use these in my daughters hair :-)

What's your favorite Goody Product? Have you used any of these products.. If so, how did you like it?

Also here's some pics of my forever21 flower hairband
